ABOUT US
It's Dance School of Performing Arts was founded by three talented
women: Iris Goode, Antoinette Martin and Iris Wilson in 2001. Antoinette
Martin is currently the Executive Director while Iris Wilson serves as the
schools current Artistic Director. It's Dance is located in the heart of
Jamaica, Queens. We offer classes in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, African, hip
hop and drama to all students from ages 3-up. A special body conditioning
class is also offered for Adults who are looking to become fit. Our students
undergo intense training in all dance disciplines led by instructors who
have worked or are currently working with world renowned dance
companies and/or choreographers. In addition, they hold degrees in dance
from SUNY Purchase, New York University and Queens College.
It is our mission to use dance as a conduit to develop youngsters culturally
and socially. At It's Dance, we provide a safe and nurturing environment
for young dancers giving them a voice that allows them to articulate their
thoughts, feelings and emotions through the art of dance. Each year our
students are given the opportunity to showcase their talents and all they
have learned in our annual June Dance Recital.
